Sashiko Cabinets
CRD Studio Casa
June 2025

SASHIKO, is a new series of handmade furniture comprising one wardrobe and two smaller cabinets. The collection is a collaborative project between Cathrine Raben Davidsen, Københavns Møbelsnedkeri, and textile house Dedar Milano. Named after the traditional Japanese embroidery technique, SASHIKO explores the poetic interplay between textile, wood, and fine art.

Designed by Raben Davidsen and masterfully crafted by Københavns Møbelsnedkeri, the sculptural furniture series embodies a thoughtful dialogue between Nordic and Japanese craftsmanship. At the heart of each piece are intricate textile patchworks using richly textured jacquard fabrics from Dedar Milano. These panels, composed with rhythmic precision and painterly sensitivity, evoke the meditative quality of traditional stitching while adding unique depth and character to each object. Paired with meticulous joinery and natural materials, the result is a collection of tactile, contemplative works that dissolve the boundary between functional furniture and sculptural art.
